Xiaomi Redmi 3S With Snapdragon 430 SoC, 4100mAh Battery Launched

Xiaomi has launched a new Redmi 3 variant, the Redmi 3S, in China. It is available in Dark grey, silver and gold colors and is priced at 699 yuan (US$ 106 / Rs. 7120 approx.) for the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version and the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version costs 899 yuan (US$ 136 / Rs. 9165 approx.). The smartphone will go on sale starting Thursday and will be available via the company's online store, Mi.com. No word on the global roll out yet.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S features 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU. The smartphone comes in two variant with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB internal storage. It is expandable via microSD up to 128GB. It sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash and a 5MP front facing camera. It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has 4100 mAh battery.
