Gionee S8 With '3D Touch' Display, 4GB RAM Launched at MWC 2016

Gionee has launched it flagship S8 smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company at the event also revealed its brand new logo and tagline that says, "Make Smiles." It is available in Rose Gold, Grey and Gold colors and is priced at EUR 449 (approximately Rs. 34,000). It will be available from the end of March, 2016.

The smartphone features 3D Touch (yes, the same name Apple uses) pressure sensitive display, one of the biggest highlights of the smartphone, and is expected to work same as the new iPhone models. The company says that the smartphone can sense 3 levels of force including touch to select an app, tap to preview the content of an app, and press to run the app.

Gionee S8 features 5.5-inch (1920× 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with 3D touch, 2.5D arc glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 powered by 1.95 GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4GB RAM. It has an internal storage of 64GB and can be expanded via microSD up to 128GB. It sports a 16MP rear camera with Laser AF and LED flash and a 8MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo OS 3.2 on top and has 3000 mAh battery with fast charging.
