The First Generation Moto X, Moto E, Moto G LTE to Get Android 5.1 Directly

Here is some good news for all the Motorola users.Motorola has announced all the first generation Moto X, Moto E and Moto G LTE  are getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

All the above mentioned first generation devices are skipping Android 5.0 Lollipop and directly getting Android 5.1 update, said David Schuster, Motorola’s Senior Director of Product Management in a Google+ post. At present Moto X, Moto E , Moto G LTE are running Android 4.4.4. Schuster also said that it has been testing 5.0.2 update on all the three devices and hence it is directly rolling out 5.1 update.

According to David Schuster, "As some of you might know, we've been testing Lollipop 5.0.2 upgrades on Moto X (1st Gen), Moto E (1st Gen) and Moto G with 4G LTE (1st Gen) in several regions. In parallel we have started testing Lollipop 5.1 which was recently released by Google. Given the improvements in Lollipop 5.1, we have decided to move all efforts to upgrade these devices directly from KitKat to Lollipop 5.1."

No word on when the update will be rolled out. Keep in touch to find out the dates.
