Lenovo to launch budget 4G smartphone at CES 2015


Lenovo has announced that it will be launching a new 4G LTE-capable smartphone at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES). The phone will be based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip and will be priced aggressively.

No word on which smartphone the company is planning to launch, recently lenovo had launched Lenovo K3 with 5-inch HD display, Snadpragon 410 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity priced at CNY 599 (US$ 96 / Rs. 6130 approx).

The phone's pricing would be comparable to that of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Micromax's YU Yureka phones, as per company sources.

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 4G is available via Flipkart and Airtel at Rs 9,999. The phone features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 powered by 1.6 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor with Adreno 305 and 2GB RAM. It has an internal storage of 8GB and can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI v5 on top and has 3100 mAh battery.

The Yureka smartphone will go on sale starting 13 January but will be available to consumers who pre-registered to buy it on Amazon India. The phone features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display powered by a Octa-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (4×1.7GHz + 4×1.0GHz) processor with Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB DDR3 RAM. It has an internal storage of 16GB an can be expanded via microSD card up to 32GB. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) CyanogenMod OS 11 and has 2500 mAh battery.
