iOS 8.1.2 Released With Fix for Disappearing Ringtone Issue

Apple released iOS 8.1.2 introducing bug fixes and addressing an issue that caused ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store to be removed from an iOS device. "This release includes bug fixes and addresses a problem where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store may have been removed from your device. To restore these ringtones, visit itunes.com/restore-tones from your iOS device," say the release notes for the update.

The update is available for the iPhone 4S and later iPhone models, the iPad 2 and later iPad models, and the fifth-generation iPod touch.

The new update adds an update to the calender app, which make it easier to juggle with busy schedule. users can now view "Week mode" simply by turning their phone landscape. On iPad, the layout of the app has been redesigned to show an Inspector panel in Day mode, allowing users to quickly view and edit details of an event.

Another new feature added to the calender app is the family sharing. When Family Sharing is enabled in iCloud, the option for Family Sharing will be visible in the list of sharing options. Up to six people in your family can share each others music, apps, movies, books and TV shows, without having to share an Apple ID or passwords. Members can easily share photos and a family calendar to stay connected.

This is the fifth update for iOS 8 since its release in September. OS 8.1.2 update is only 28.2 MB, provided users already have iOS 8 installed.
